Good quality military-style mess kit

This Rothco mess kit is based on the WWII-vintage M-1942 U. S. Army mess kit with its simple and durable stainless steel construction. The vintage military origin of its design shows in its simplicity, durability and ease of storage.

I find it to be a much more ideal solution for a regular use mess set than more common plastic wares, as I've found plastic to be more prone to scratches from cutlery and stains from sauces, making sanitary clean up more difficult in the long term. I have found the same to be true for plastic drink tumblers when compared to stainless steel thermoses. This is exacerbated by the fact that plastic is porous whereas stainless steel is not.

As such, I would definitely recommend this product for long-term use, despite costing a bit more than plastic alternatives.
