Always a great buy. Small and unassuming but holds its own very well. Perfect for EDC whether riding on your key chain or bag. Mine gets a lot of workout (read:abuse) and never seem to complain, and my knife thanks me for it.

Among the "solid one piece" key chain multi tools, this is probably the best bang for the buck. It has most of the everyday tool that you need in a one piece solid state small tool. Every keychain should have this.

Just a simple tool worth carrying around. Anytime. Anywhere.
Already used it for cleaning a washing machine. Never leave home without it! Goes along with my PS4 and my occasional carry Wave. ^_^
Light, compact and almost undetectable. This is an excellent tool to carry along with your pocket knife or to keep with your keys. Used it to open bottles, pry open wooden boxes, and the cross driver to fix loose screws on my door. If you are undecided as to which multi-tool to buy, start with this one. You can't go wrong!

It's an awesome addition to my edc. Although i hope you could also get the "artifact", i think it's the an upgrade of the shard.

Very handy. I'm surprised that the screwdriver works well. The wire stripper is not bad too. Be careful when fishing for it in your pocket, the bottle opener is a bit sharp.

So, is this really airplane safe? I was stopped by airport security once saying that this shouldn't be allowed to be hand carried. Luckily, the senior security let me through. Just wondering if you guys could give me a valid defense the next time I'm stopped by airport security. I was wearing this thing as a necklace.
Try to give it a new color by painting it with a brighter color. Maybe, just maybe, the security officer will not bother at all. Just a suggestion

Hi, we only copied the product write-up from Gerber's official website. The item looks innocent and not deadly to us. We haven't personally handcarried the Shard in airport though. Maybe our other customers can share their personal experience. Thanks.

So far I haven't encountered any trouble with my Shard. It goes with my keys which I keep in my person during flight. Sometimes it's in my carry on bag with my keys. Maybe because you carried it in a necklace which could've aroused suspicion. But the fact they let you through means it's not prohibited at all. Worst case is that they let you check it in. Safe travels!
