The Geigerrig In-Line Virus Filter lets you use or drink clean water along the trail.  Rather than carrying extra water bottles, pack the Geigerrig In-Line Virus Filter instead as it weighs only 1.05 ounce so you can save weight on your packs.  You can also be prepared with this filter in case you run out of water or unexpectedly have to extend your stay in the backcountry.  

Utilizing leading water filtration techniques and media science, Geigerrig In-Line Virus Filter can effectively remove at least 99.9% of Protozoans (Cryptosporidium and Giardia), 99.9999% Bacteria (Raoutella terrigena), and 99.99% Virus (MS-2 Bacteriophage). Intensively tested and accredited by independent laboratories, it meets ANSI/NSF Standard 52, and US EPA standards without employing disinfecting chemicals such as chlorine, bromine, or iodine.  Activated Coconut Shell Carbon eliminates waterborne chemicals, unpleasant taste and odor, while integrated Antimicrobial Technology inhibits the growth of bacteria, algae, fungus, mold and mildew inside the filter.

Aside from the Geigerrig Hydration Pack Engine Reservoir, it is also compatible with other leading brands of hydration system as it is produced using the patented Universal Quick Connect Technology, a two-button design which allows for a secure, leak-free connection.  Geigerrig In-Line Virus Filter is rated to filter up to 100 gallons of water and has a replaceable cartridge (sold separately).
