The Cold Steel Kobun is a lightweight knife that takes its name from the Japanese underworld, where the word “Kobun” is sometimes used as an indicator of rank that suggests the word “soldier”, or one who takes orders from his “Oyabun” or boss. It’s a fitting name for a knife like the Kobun, which was effectively designed to be “a good soldier”. Proven to be incredibly popular with the Military, where it’s prized for its light weight and discreet profile as much as its durability and cutting potential.

The Kobun features Cold Steels iconic reinforced “American Tanto” point, making it highly resistant to bending or breaking because it is reinforced by the full thickness of the blade’s spine (which runs almost to the very tip of the blade). Despite its thin profile, the Kobun’s deeply checkered Kray-Ex handle is designed to offer maximum grip and is contoured to resist turning or shifting in the hand.

Slicey Aus8 Kobun

Long 5in hollow grind good for slicing meat. I normally use a 4116 8in kitchen knife but i just wanted to show off sa mga pamankin and this Kobun didn’t disappoint. Aus8 has good edge retention (almost same as the 4116) and is easy to sharpen.

Tactical Asia has the best customer service from pre-sale, to actual sale, to post sale response efficiency.

Great looking tough knife!

Great Backup Knife for Combat

This knife is not made for mundane tasks. It is designed primarily for fighting.
I asked my mistah who's in Marawi to test it out against terrorists. He confirmed 2 kills with the knife. The first one he was able to do a silent kill (backstab). The second one, he threw the knife against the enemy around 18 ft. away. Unfortunately he wasn't able to recover the knife because enemy reinforcements closed in. :-(
I was hoping to get back the knife after confirmed actual combat use to be displayed in the museum. . . I guess I just have to buy again from Tactical Asia.
So the knife is very good for stabbing, slashing and throwing.
Yes, even against body armor.
