G.I. Military Phosphorescent Lensatic Compass (Model 27) is the more affordable version of the popular Tritium model, the official U.S. military compass. 

Specifically built for demanding conditions with an aluminum frame and a waterproof housing, it has undergone rigorous testing and is shock, water, and sand proof, and is still functional from -50 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. It is equipped with a magnifying lens, sight wire, and dial graduations in both degrees and mils to assure accurate readings. It also has a Copper Induction Dampening System that slows down the rotation of the magnet without the use of liquids. Brief exposure to external light "charges" the phosphorescent markings for nighttime use.
