First of all, I am currently a PNP Patrolman. I bought these shoes because I felt that our standard issue patrol shoes, though adequate, is not the best pair shoes that I could be wearing during our patrols. The 5.11 ATAC 6", cant pass rank inspections, due to its higher profile and 5.11 logo. BUT in all other aspects such as comfort, functionality and "special features".

What I like about these boots, first of all, is its perfect, snug fit. when the package said its a size 10, it really is a size 10. that was one off the major problems I saw with the PNP standard issue patrol shoes. My issued patrol shoes is a size 10, but its much larger than my feet, and it doesn't have a comfortable, snug fit, unlike these boots. Aside from comfort, what this means is you cant tie and secure it properly to your feet WITHOUT causing discomfort, so there would be a bigger chance that your shoes would become untied when running. In certain situations, this could mean life or death. Its better to be prepared and that's why, in this aspect, the 5.11 ATAC 6" is better than the standard patrol.

Secondly, lets talk about features. The advertising said these boots are slip resistant, and it truly is. I tested by walking on surfaces with water and oil, and it felt really stable. that stability would give anyone the confidence to run in any surface without the fear of slipping and falling over. As stated in the youtube video posted on this site, the ATAC series of boots have linings on the bridge of the boot that helps in gripping ropes. I tried it and I did feel a better grip compared to just using sneakers or GI boots. Lastly, the leather materials on these boots are really easy to shine, so it wouldn't be hard in maintaining that professional, clean look that is required of a police officer.

Now, the only COMPLAINT I have about these boots is that, even though I only had these for a few days, the leather-like material around the 5.11 logo, which I guess is a much softer synthetic leather compared to the overall body of the boots, has already shown signs of damage. Long story short, its already peeling. Its easy enough to cover with shoe shine, and if the damage would become extensive, a local leather worker that I know said he could fix it. HOWEVER, its not the type off problem that you would expect from a pair of shoes worth Php6000.

Overall I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Almost a perfect score, if it weren't for that one issue that I mentioned above. ALSO, GREAT SERVICE FROM TACTICAL ASIA, as always. I live in Negros Occidental and the package arrived after just 3 days when I made the order.

To my fellow servicemen, if any of you are looking for a substitute for patrol shoes or shoes for "General Office Attire", I highly recommend the 5.11 ATAC 6". Its worth the high price tag.

Just received my ordered item from Tactical Asia. The courtesy of the staff is beyond compare against other similar online stores. You feel safe because you would get their support from the start and long after the transaction is finished. TA is now my only choice for products that are available from their online store. That is how I show gratitude for them for their help. By the way, I cannot give my personal review to the product (5.11 Tactical A.T.A.C. 6" Boots), because I haven't worn the pair. However, a friend of mine had the boots for six years and still holds true with the quality that is trademark of the 5.11. Moreover, judging from the quality of the authentic product, I may be able to use it beyond 5 years also.
