The gauges are machined from top quality aluminum, and the pockets are finished with Clymer finishing reamers, the same finish used by top gunsmiths worldwide to cut the final dimensions on the barrel. It 

allows dropping in of 2 or 3 bullets at a time, just like filling up your ammo boxes because the bullet pockets were positioned as close together as possible. The height is purposely cut shorter than other gauges, so that the tip of the bullet head sticks out. You can simply push a bullet loose from below with your finger if a bullet stucks, without needing the help of other tools.
