The Kershaw Emerson CQC-5K features a modified clip-point blade for versatile cutting capability. Black-oxide coating protects the blade and makes it non-reflective, too. G-10 handles in olive drab provide secure grip and a locking liner means safe and solid blade lock up.

The Kershaw Emerson CQC-5K is a manual opener using either the thumb disk or the patented Emerson "wave shaped feature." This opening feature enables the knife to be opened as it is removed from the pocket. By the time the knife has been fully withdrawn from the pocket, the blade is deployed and ready for use. A small wave-shaped tab on the top of the blade is built to catch on the pocket seam, opening the knife as it comes out of the pocket. This instant-open feature is a favorite among military, rescue, and law enforcement knife users.

The pocketclip is reversible for left- or right-handed carry.

Perfect for FMA practitioners, military, LE, or for civilian sheepdogs

I love it. Emerson is also a fellow martial artist so I know his designs are really designed for combat. Though this can be used to open clam packages and open boxes, this is really designed for fighting.

- Wave opener works really well.
- The blade shape is very nice.
- Scary sharp out of the box.
- No blade play, liner lock is very tight. In fact it's kinda painful to close the blade
- Although this can be a general use knife, I wouldn't exactly recommend for EDC. The size is perfect, but almost an inch of the handle sticks out of the pocket.
- Recommended for arnis/eskrima/kali fighters, law enforcement and military servicemen. Also recommended for self-defense however I'd highly recommend to get away from places where you have to defens yourself. You can't get out of a knife encounter without pain (physically, mentally, or emotionally).
