The Rothco Special Ops Tactical Softshell Jacket blocks all of the wind and rain out, while retaining body heat.  The outer layer is made of 100% high-density polyester fabric with four way elasticity and is waterproof.  On the other hand, the interior of the jacket is made of 100% fleece lining that is lightweight, breathable, and moisture wicking.  

The jacket features a stand-up collar with a concealed detachable hood.  The collar has a zipper pouch that holds the hood when it is not in use.  You can customize your jacket by attaching colorful, statement patches on the 4x4-inch loop side of the hook & loop (a.k.a Velcro) found on each shoulder.  The jacket has a drawstring waist and hood, hook & loop adjustable wrist cuffs, and a vent zipper under each arm.

There are plenty of pockets on the jacket including a pocket on each arm, a forearm pocket on the left arm, two front chest pockets, a back pocket with mesh interior, and two interior pockets.  All the pockets have zippers.  A D-ring can be found inside the chest pockets while rubber slits inside the chest and arm pockets allow for MP3 player cords to go through.

The jacket is not a heavy-duty, winter coat but it is capable of deflecting wind and rain.  It is comfortable, fully adjustable, and has lots of storage.
