Great product

These are more expansive in initial cost comparing what you can buy on other hardware. However, these can be use for a long time and has a better moisture protection for your stuff. These are my 2nd batch, and I'm still using, which I bought last June.

Bought another set

Still 5 star review for another set. Reusable, tip to save time and money in reactivating the silica gel, heat them all at once in an oven toaster for an hour. :)

is this food grade?

Customer

No. It only states that it removes moisture from enclosed spaces and prevents rust, mold, mildew, corrosion, and odors.

Hi. Im looking for a solution to preserve my flowers like forever, is this the right product to be used?

Customer

Hi. We are not sure if this can preserve flowers. As per its product description: The Hydrosorbent Silica Gel Dehumidifier removes moisture from enclosed spaces and prevents rust, mold, mildew, corrosion, and odors. Simply place the silica gel in an enclosed area. Thanks.

I bought four of these. Do you have to remove the silica gel from the aluminum casing or do you heat it as is? I could not seem to open it so I heated it in the oven with the casing for 10 minutes I was scared because there was a lot of smoke is this normal? It did work it turned blue again but still scary I thought something was burnt.

I can see from the comments that you will need an oven toaster to reactivate the silica gel but only at 80% since oven toaster only have 250 degrees. So can you use a microwave oven to reactivate this even if silica gel is in a tin can? in a real oven capable of 350 degrees how long does it take to reactivate the 40 gram silica gel?

It was impossible for me to find an oven toaster which was not to expensive in the Philippines last year I was residing there so I purchased one for 2300 peso and it was working up to 250 degrees and I used it during 3 hours . It was working good so I was able to protect my more than 200 years old renovated French violin during a period of 6 months i stayed near the waters in Marigondon Lapu Lapu and sometimes there were more than 85% humidity inside the room when I was not using the air-con. However I did also put the violin in the case all the time then I did not use it as an extra security step. Usually it took 14 days between the reactivation periods so for me no problems occurred.
