In many aspects, the Gerber Gator Machete Jr. is similar to its big brother the Gerber Gator Machete.  It is made of high-carbon steel with two-sided blade, a fine edge and a saw edge. It comes with a nylon sheath for safe transport.  Its Gator Grip handle provides a comfortable and secure grip that prevents slipping even when wet.  

However, unlike its big brother the Gerber Gator Machete Jr. is easier to transport and handle because it is 7 inches shorter and and 3.7 oz / 100 grams lighter.  Thus, making this machete perfect for lightweight travel and general work such as removing vines, branches and other vegetation.
