The new Starter's design is machined and complex—yet smoothly functional.

The BlackWash™ finish gives it a rough-and-tumble look, yet the finish isn’t just for looks. The coating provides an extra measure of protection for the metal, and the BlackWash helps hide any additional scratches you put on the knife during normal use.

The Starter is equipped with SpeedSafe® assisted opening for fast and easy one-handed opening. It opens neatly with the built-in flipper or thumb stud. A liner lock safely secures the blade open during use, and then closes easily for storage or carry. The all-steel design really shows off the BlackWash finish.

The Starter includes Kershaw's deep-carry pocketclip so the knife rides comfortably low in the pocket for discreet carry.

It's a good knife.

Bought this for my girlfriend and she likes it a lot. Kershaw makes some good assisted openers, but it takes a while to break it in. The blackwash finish looks amazing on it. Wish more knives had this finish.

I got my order really fast. The knife looks really nice. The handle is a work of art. It's a bit hard to flip open, but that might just be because it's new. The customer service attendant was really helpful over chat.

This is an amazingly heavy folding knife that could act as backup knife when camping or going out of town but not for edc as this would make an obvious imprint on your pants pocket. Price is reasonable and the design of the handle reminds me of knives from the '80s old school with a touch of steampunk. Surprisingly, this is the only knife I found useful for doing food prep. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is that I'm not a big fan of thumb studs and with this knife it's impossible to open it using the thumb stud as the thumb "ramp" on the handle is not deep enough so you can dig open the stud, good thing the flicker works. As always, superb customer service from Tactical Asia.
