i bought this together with the 1.5" shoulder pad for the maxped water bottle holder. i do have other shoulder straps form other bags but hey, you can't beat the original... for one, it is lighter, its color blends with its own class,& it is sturdy.
a 2" strap works well with a 1.5" pad. it does not slide. when worn, a sliding pad is an annoyance. it gets the bag moving specially when you are running.
