Condor compact assault pack

This pack is pretty good. The material used, the cut and build get high marks. You can tell this thing can take some abuse. This ain't a cheap imitation assault pack. Stitching is solid all around,the zippers used are the right kind for a backpack that will be abused. The straps are nice and thickly padded,feels solid not like those on cheap backpacks that are paper thin. This is on par with backpacks I've used before like Blackhawk, and Voodoo Tactical. For an everyday pack this should fit the bill,it's small enough not to be a hassle but can carry everything you need,although if you have a laptop it needs to be on the smaller end,but for large tablets and net books,no problem. For a one day op or patrol this can carry enough food and gear and by attaching molle pouches,you can carry even more gear and it still won't feel bulky. If you're going to be operating in an urban environment this is perfect,carries enough food and kit for a day or two,and it's nice and small so you won't get jammed up in doorways and small hallways if you're doing house to house stuff. Loaded this pack up with about 35 pounds and it took it like a champ,zippers were solid and it didn't look like the bag was ready to tear anywhere. In reality,if you need more than 35 to 40 pounds of kit then you need a bigger pack because you're not on a one day patrol anymore. So, for an everyday pack or a one day mission,or even a go bag, and you don't wanna spend too much on a Blackhawk,or 5. 11, this pack is a great choice. On a side note, you guys should consider carrying Voodoo Tactical bags and packs too,gives more choices within the condor and rothco price and quality range.

First off, hats off to Tactical Asia for this product in their catalogue, was looking for a backpack and this fits the bill, i saw the Rothco first but i hit up the reviews and this was the one that most are suggesting as the bang for the buck.

So far, i've only used this one as my school / edc but got called in to bring snacks for a relative, me being lazy not just carrying the plastic bag full of snacks, i just expanded the compression, stuffed the snack packs in the bag and voila, easy carry and no hassle whatsoever. i got to fit 4 lemonsquare big cupcake packs in the bag, 2 in the main pocket and another 2 in the 2nd main pocket.

bag is so sleek and minimalist in design but functions well. straps are a little loose as is due to some stuffs i put in the bag but, it's how gravity works, it's not the bag itself, with a little DIY, straps are now cinched and tightened to the point where it can't go loose on its own anymore.

Great secondary bug-out bag and for once, I'm surprised that ABest express delivered the parcel a day after my deposit, I was sure it'd arrive friday last week but, my bag arrived wednesday, color me surprised and that got me going home quick.

I've taken this for a couple of dayhikes and an overnighter and it had held up so far. I purchased this primarily for hikes, and what I like about the concept of a compact assault pack is the high degree of configurability.

On it's own, this pack is "low-profile" enough to be used both for a light hike or a trip to the mall. For extended trips, you can add modular attachments and go up from there.

In my case, a "dayhike/mall/class config" would be the pack on its own. The "overnight config" would be the pack plus the "shelter module" and "sleep system module". The "3D/2N config" would be the pack + "shelter module" + "sleep system module" + "sustainment module 1 and/or 2", and so on.

With regard to the weight-carrying capacity, I have loaded this pack up to 15 kgs with no problems. I've e-mailed Condor with regard to load rating, and they suggested to load it with "at most 50 pounds. "

With regard to how the pack wears, it fits the 5'5" me perfectly. I noticed, however, that for taller guys, this pack would have to sit quite low on your back for you to use the waist strap properly (i. e. resting on top of the hipbone).

The only thing I would have wanted more from this pack would be options for internal organization. However, for this price range, I guess that would be asking too much.
